Witchcraft Trail Proposal
When you think of witchcraft, you may think of pointy hats and Halloween. Maybe, you think of Salem, where 19 people were executed as accused witches.
However, Scotland murdered “witches” on a different scale. this trail will shed light on the Scottish witchcraft trials, where over 3000 people were accused of witchcraft and two thirds of them were executed for that reason. These women and men have not been pardoned, there has been no public apology. this trail gives a name to those women and men, we remember them as victims of an injustice at the hands of the state and the church.
This is a trail unlike any other, this is a trail about social justice.
